The first week after New Year is among the cheapest of the year; CES in the second week is the most expensive, with rooms booked a year ahead and rates several times normal. Day trips to Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam are ideal in the mild daytime.
Rain falls on about three days. The NFL playoffs fill the sportsbooks on weekends. Daylight runs from about seven to five. The Bellagio Conservatory's winter display runs to early January, then changes for the Lunar New Year. Shows and restaurants are easy to book outside CES week.
