What the numbers don't tell you
April is cherry-blossom month, with Yeouido's Yunjung-ro and Seokchon Lake drawing enormous crowds in the first two weeks, then azaleas and fresh green on the mountains. It is the busiest spring month with prices to match. Afternoons average 18 °C and rain falls on about eight days. The night illuminations at Seokchon Lake and the royal palace night openings begin, with tickets for the palaces selling out online.
The Seoul International Marathon and the Jinhae blossom festival in the south draw crowds away for weekends. Fine-dust episodes continue into April.
