February is cold and dry, with afternoons around 4 °C and nights well below freezing, and the first hints of spring in the final week. If Seollal falls this month, plan around its three-day closures. Crowds are low and hotel rates among the cheapest of the year. Saunas, heated floors and jjimjilbang spas make the cold part of the experience, and the ski resorts in Gangwon remain open.
