Best time to visit Singapore

Singapore sits almost on the equator, so there is no warm or cold season, only wet and less wet. Every month is hot and humid, with highs around 31 °C and a thunderstorm never far away. The northeast monsoon from November to January brings the heaviest and longest rain; February to April are the driest and sunniest months, and the inter-monsoon periods of April to May and October to November bring short, sharp afternoon storms.

Crowds and prices follow festivals rather than weather: Chinese New Year in late January or February, the Formula 1 night race in September and the December school holidays are the expensive weeks. Air-conditioned malls, museums and the MRT make rain a minor inconvenience, and the Gardens by the Bay conservatories are cooled to 23 °C. Haze from regional fires can affect air quality between June and October in dry years. For the best balance of dry weather and normal prices, aim for February outside the New Year week, or March.
