February is one of the driest months and often the sunniest, with less humidity than later in the year and rain on about 6 days rather than fifteen. Chinese New Year and the Chingay Parade dominate if they fall in the month, bringing high hotel rates, lion dances in Chinatown and closures of family businesses for two to four days. Outside those days it is an excellent month for walking Gardens by the Bay and the Southern Ridges.
Afternoon highs reach 31 °C with a breeze from the northeast. Thaipusam, the Hindu festival with its procession from Little India to Tank Road, falls in late January or February and is worth planning around. The Singapore Airshow, held in even years in February, fills business hotels for a week. For beach days on Sentosa, February and March have the clearest skies of the year.
