April is hot by European standards, with afternoons nearing 34 °C by month-end, but mornings and evenings are still fine for the beach and the old-town souks along the Creek. Easter brings families from Europe. Rates begin to fall from the winter peak, especially after mid-month. Rain is rare but April has produced the city's heaviest storms in recent years, with flooded roads for a day or two.
