08Editor's notes

What the numbers don't tell you

August continues the peak, with Pride in the middle of the month, Fashion Week in the first week and the Cooking and Food Festival late in the month. Many Copenhageners return from holiday in the second week. Evenings shorten noticeably but stay warm enough for outdoor dining, with afternoons around 21 °C. Rates ease in the final week as the schools return.

The harbour water is at its warmest, around 19 °C. Rain falls on about ten days. The Pride parade on the Saturday draws hundreds of thousands to the route from Frederiksberg to City Hall Square. The Cultural Harbour festival brings free events to the waterfront. For the same weather at lower prices, the final days of August and the first week of September are the window.
