June has the longest days of the year, with twilight lingering past eleven and Sankt Hans bonfires on 23 June along the coast and the lakes, with speeches, songs and a witch effigy on the fire. Distortion fills the streets of Nørrebro and Vesterbro with sound systems in the first week, and Constitution Day on 5 June is a half holiday. Temperatures are mild rather than warm, around 19 °C, and it is among the drier months.
